I’ve done a lot of fishing in my live but there are still many things I have to do before I decide to put down the fishing rod for good. One of the things I’d always wanted to do is go fly fishing in Scotland or the lovely lakes of Ireland. I just can see myself doing some trout fishing in some of the most beautiful sceneries in Europe or anywhere else in the world. One day I’ll get there, that’s for sure.

Another thing on my list is to go saltwater fishing in Florida. I’ve never been on one of those small fishing boats where you can fight for hours with your catch. Maybe participate in a fishing contest while I’m at it. The only time I ever went saltwater fishing was on a 30-person boat to catch some mackerel. Not a real exciting occupation. A while ago I read something about shallow water fishing a while ago which looked like a fun thing to do also.

Another one of my pet peeves is collecting all sorts of fishing lures and baits. So expanding my collection while being in different places in the world is another thing on my agenda.

Since I live in an area in the world where it’s never cold enough for the lakes (we don’t even have those here) to freeze over I’ve never been ice fishing. That’s one more goal I’d like to add to the list. The only thing that concerns me is that all of this is going to cost me a fortune in fishing reels and rods, but hey, no pain, no gain.

And maybe if I’ve done all of this and have a little time left I even might go fishing for King Prawn in Brunei. :)

raymarine ds600x fishfinderOk folks, the next generation fishfinders has arrived. The Raymarine DS600X will blow away any of his precessors without a doubt. Or at least that’s what the manufacturers want to make us believe. And they just might be right about this.

This marvellous piece of echo sounder technology from Raymarine combines state of the art color display technology which will allow you to spot fish even better with Raymarine’s patented High Definition Fish Imaging for unseen fishfinder performance.

Thanks to the amazing color separation and clarity this Raymarine fishfinder makes it extremely easy to target fish and bottom structure. All this is possible because the DS600X makes use of a digitally adaptive transmitter/receiver.

(Just FYI, this beauty is on sale at BoatersWorld this week!)

Some more specs about the DS600X:

  • Daylight Viewable 6″ 256 color display
  • Powerful 500W RMS Transmit Power
  • Dual frequency 200kHz/50kHz
  • Transflective Advanced TFT LCD Technology
  • Raymarine’s patented HDFI digital echo sounder
